This episode is an interview doubleheader, first one in a while. First up, Don Rauf of New York-based Life In A Blender returns to the show with a great new album. It’s called Bent By The Weather, and it’s quirky and insightful. The songs have been described as “blackly comic landscapes”, and are fun to listen to. They play like musical short stories. But listen a little closer, and there’s some real life happening here.

Later on, lifelong friends Cyndi Dawson and Henry Seiz, the songwriting team of New Jersey-based The Cynz, also return to the show with a great new album. “Little Miss Lost” is amazing. They’ve made a name for themselves as purveyors of a relentless, take no prisoners musical approach. This album is different. It’s reflective and a bit wistful, because it’s got some autobiographical elements to it. It’s absolutely wonderful, with lots of depth and emotion, but it still rocks pretty hard.
