In this episode, Brent Seavers tackles the Sacramento freeway system on a weekend, to join me in studio for some conversation and music! It’s a rare treat to chat with someone on the show face to face. He’s a member of the beloved Sacramento band The Decibels, and just yesterday, released his second solo album, “Exhibit B”. This one is truly solo–he wrote and sang all the songs, and played all guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards. Yet he has a producer’s ear and detachment–as we discussed, he was able to listen objectively as he recorded and mixed the record. It’s an exciting record to listen to. As it goes with a lot of rock’n’roll that I like, the sound of it grabs you at first, but as you dig in, you’ll realize that Brent is tackling some grown up subject matter.
Our chat was lighthearted and fun. I was pleased to learn that he’s put together a band, and these songs will soon be played on stages in and around Sacramento (Editor’s note: And hopefully outside of the area too!).
